Belgrade band Alfapop was founded in 2008 by 4 multi-talented people, with an array of musical experience in various musical styles. Their wish was to breathe fresh energy into the Serbian musical landscape.

The name Alfapop derives from the band's desire to create a powerful and compelling sound, alpha referring to the most aggressive and prominent form of pop. With a combination of powerful melodic vocal lines and energetic rhythm, the band strives to achieve this sound through the creation of power pop, the strongest sound in pop.

Alfapop recorded their first album in the ALPHA music studio in Novi Sad, Serbia. Two videos were released for the songs "Sati"/"Hours" and "Hocu jos"/"I want more" and both made quite a success on local and regional TV Networks and on MTV Adria. Band participated in the reality show "Rat bendova" (War of the bands) on Bosnian TV OBN, which brought to good exposure in surrounding as well as in their own country. In a short period of time, Alfapop had numerous performances from gigs in small clubs to shows on big stages and TV appearances.

This collection of songs known as "Alfapop" is an intense release, ranging from songs that are calm and serene to power-driven melodies that will get one up dancing. The music and lyrics found in this album are uncomplicated, yet incredibly melodic. The vocals are the sweetest and most beautiful you will find in any contemporary band. The album is haunting and the success of it is probably due the unexpected music, hence no candy-floss kitsch.
