Following a line of electronic acts, Somofall merge ambient and gentle melodic trance together. Swiftly soaring synths, percussive beats and melodic beats make up the sound, with guitars and strings adding to the live performances. Producer and Keyboardist Steven J Mihaljevich is essentially the composer and arranger of Somofall and has been developing the sound since 2008.
Previously, Somofall have supported international acts such as Infected Mushroom and Mark Norman but Steven says that the music has been transformed since that time, resulting in a sound recognisable with influences evident such as Chicane, ATB and Robert Miles.
“I have been creating a sound that is far more melodic, colourful and more honest than anything I have ever done.”
Aside from this project, Steven J Mihaljevich’s work has found itself into film, composing for documentaries, short and feature films. His first release with Amadea records was collaboration with brilliant vocalist Amethyste with a track called ALWAYS RUNNING, and now a first release under the name Somofall with a very melodic track FEEL on the Amadea Chill out Dreaminess Red Sessions compilation featuring the amazing vocals from Australian vocalist Annalisse Walker.

With the debut album only a couple of months away now, expect to hear an album that has been inspired by melodic electronic, ambience, Nintendo, classical music and the sweeping shores of Australia. Composer Steven J Mihaljevich says the album is an “uplifting feast of harmonious vocal melodies, melodic piano and ambient textures.”
